The women of the Greater Atlanta Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association love volunteering at Atlanta’s two Ronald McDonald Houses because we believe in the power of togetherness. Our sorority’s motto, “We live for each other,” echoes Ronald McDonald House Charities’ mission of keeping families close when it matters most, and we love playing a small part in the healing journey of each family we meet when serving.
We serve at one of Atlanta’s two houses every month, cooking meals or hosting activity nights. We know it’s important to stay well-nourished while caring for others, so we strive to provide healthy meals that are delicious and cater to as many tastes as possible: taco bar, soups and sandwiches, and Sunday brunch are some of our favorite meals to make. It’s also important to make time for fun, which is why we love hosting activity nights! Some of our favorite activities to host are bingo games, manicure nights, and craft nights.
Ronald McDonald House Charities has been Alpha Delta Pi’s official philanthropy partner for more than 40 years, but our commitment to serving RMHC families runs deeper than monthly service activities. Some of our sisters volunteer more frequently in Atlanta’s two houses as organizers and cooks.
Alpha Delta Pi’s collegiate chapters and Alumnae Associations support about 40 percent of RMHC chapters worldwide, and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation is leading an effort to expand our support to even more RMHC locations through an endowment that will provide support for operations, construction, and renovations for years to come, so that families can continue to stay close and focus on healing no matter their financial status.
If you’re an ADPi who is interested in serving with an incredibly fun group of women, we’d love to have you join us! Email atladpi@gmail.com for more information!
